my time line is off on the skys, I've been out of the loop a while, but my point was re the 7 string models, those are his main guitars, the others lie about the house, even the white stratthe 6 string models are very pedestrian compared to the 7 string models, I played them all, except the one he gave away, I even have specifications and tracings on the body & neck shapes Orem did the preamp to go with another mfgs active pickup line, the pickups were given too much output capability

the original sky guitars are quite a bit older than 10 years ago - uli was using them on his "firewind" album of 1981 - one of my friends near L.A. was commissioned to emergency repair one of them before a concert and i actually got to touch it.it had 32 frets. when you get up that high on the neck it is impossible to manipulate so the frets were located at every other fret location - see what i am saying? very difficult to master!
