THE PLIGHT OF THE BURMESE PEOPLE
As if the Burmese people hadn't enough to contend with by being brutally ruled by a Junta of military criminals, they now have to contend with one of the worst natural disasters ever to occur in the region. With a bit of luck this will spell the end of the general's rule as it appears that they don't have the resources to deal with the disaster. Hopefully, the world's aid agencies will get in there as quickly as possibe and do what they can to alleviate the suffering on the ground.

The other lady was a guest for Susan Wornick's consumer advice segment (later known as "Midday Call-In" when more of a variety of topics were covered).

Actually, Chris Clausen died July 29, 2008 of complications from a stroke.

In the Newscenter 5 closing, I see Susan Wornick, Jim Boyd, and Bob Copeland. Who is the other lady on this newscast?
mediadude08 (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
And announcer Chris Clausen is still with 'HDH today...but he has a much smaller role now that Scott Chapin does the lion's share of the voiceovers.

Probably. Even of those who showed up around the time of the switch and after, so many are gone now. Dan Hausle is still around, but names like Garvin Thomas, Caterina, Mishelle, and so many more I can't recall the names of, are gone. And Leonard> WCVB. And T. Gross to Salt Lake City.. And there's J. Derderian too..
MSTS1 (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
And that was not an edit, Brimley directly followed on the tape.. Strange coincidence....And yes, I cut the prologue to go right to the opening.

YT set the limit at 100mb, 10 mins. Older Director accts may still be able to go over, or vids posted before can still run. I just saw one 17 mins..I'll take a look at the press conference- haven't watched it yet..
