THE PLIGHT OF THE BURMESE PEOPLE
As if the Burmese people hadn't enough to contend with by being brutally ruled by a Junta of military criminals, they now have to contend with one of the worst natural disasters ever to occur in the region. With a bit of luck this will spell the end of the general's rule as it appears that they don't have the resources to deal with the disaster. Hopefully, the world's aid agencies will get in there as quickly as possibe and do what they can to alleviate the suffering on the ground.

She sounded as good live as on the record, which is rare. Even more rare today because back then people actually could sing even if they didn't look sexy. Today so called "singers" can't sing but look "hot". Music is suffering because of that. Videos really did kill the radio stars.

No problem, I did misunderstand. It is crazy to think that this was 30 years ago and yes, how many of those talented people are still around. I hope that if they're reading our comments that they know they left a lasting impression on our youth that will never be replaced. It sure was time when life seemed so much easier, cooler and the music was insane. Adios!

I'm sorry I think you misunderstood. Karen died, The Creator Of The Village People Died, Sylvester Died. I was around 13 when this song came out and I remember seeing this Telecast on TV. I thought she was fantastic!!

Sure there are millions of us still alive, why wouldn't we be. I was 16 when this came out and had a phoney ID to get into the clubs of LA. It was definitely a special time for music and it would never be like this again. Peace out!

Fun song! Probably the height of the disco era

I know there are just one more video with a singer from the Soap Factory dance show. It is Ring my Bell with Anita Ward. I really would like to see the one by Blondie. I was in this video as Debra had to sing to me and Malcolm another dancer. Wish Youtube would broadcast more of these since this was produced in a real disco. If anyone remembers Tony Manero I am doing great and live in New Jersey.

The Soap Factory Dance show was a great show. I was a dancer on the show and met many wonderful singers such as Karen Young,Peaches and Herb,Melba Moore, young Stephanie Mills and Blondie. In fact I was dancing on stage in this video. I was Tony if anyone remembers. I miss that whole time of the disco period which made all people dance no matter what race or religion. I miss the dancers and great discos like Le mans,Uncle Sams,Cherrys,Peach Trees,Fun House,Studio 54Copa and Baby O's in Mexico.

I was only 12 or 13 when these songs came out. I really feel that I missed out on the best era of Paryting. Everyone seemed happier, and more carefree, not now. Sadly enough, I sometimes wonder how many of these people are still alive.
