Cat Stevens, the writer also sings it up tempo. Linda usually performs a song the way the writer intended....usually, but not always. One can depend on her efforts to be all quality...her voice, songs, backup musicians...always the best.

jeez, she's good. saw her with the eagles and jackson browne at the waikiki shell in '74. how did we lose the thread of cultivating talent like this...and wind up stuck with talentless hacks like mariah carey, sheryl crow or those dingbats who do that asinine "bootylicious" song???

NYGuy - I think Essra Mohawk is the greatest singer-writer of the last 100 years. Many agree - Rolling Stone called 1970's "Primordial Lovers" "one of the 25 best albums of all time." Essra's phrasing & unique voice are incredible. She also wrote CL's "Change of Heart" & sang "Interjections" for School House Rock, btw.

I like her voice; don't care for this song, though. It's the melody. Sorry kids!
