So your telling me, when he was in Man On The Moon he was the same as Ace Ventura. When he was in Lemony Snicket etc he was the same The Truman Show. When he was in The Majestic he was the same as The Mask. When he was The Grinch he was the same as Number 23.When he was in Eternal Sunshine etc he was the same in Dumb and Dumber?I am pretty sure you can tell these characters apart.I'm done.You are making no sense and your debate is pointless.

acting in its basic form is pretending to be someone else, or just pretending in general. in its most complicated form its about tapping into deep emotions and transforming yourself into a completely different person, be it a gangster, a doctor, a wildlife keeper, a murderous psycho etc. not just different guys who all happen to flail their limbs everywhere. your not pretending to be someone else, you ARE someone else.

Uh,why would De Niro be shaking in his boots? Makes no sense.I am not an actor, I just enjoy a good movie like most people that have a television. Do you have to be one to watch a show. Why are you making a big deal about Jim Carrey? LET IT GO!!!Let me guess you are studying acting or trying to break into the movies working as an extra! Oh well, good luck in Hollywood,Pacino!!

I agree but he still can do things that make me laugh. Bruce Almighty for instance. He did an impression of Clint Eastwood that was awesome. Besides he hasn't done a movie like Ace or Dumb and Dumber in a long time.

they werent exactly polar opposites though, and I did get caught up and give carey more heat than he deserves. I've already said hes a good actor, and that its s SHAME he wastes his talent doing the same things over and over again. me myself and irene is one f my favourite comedies because he doesnt overact as much in it, except when hes changing into hank. we really dont need to see carey screwing up his face for 15 seconds. that is nothing new.

And you are the expert on this beacuse? You are an expert actor? Or just someone who likes to rain on peoples parades.Jim Carrey creating personas is what got him his movie career. Heck take the Mask and Ace Ventura. Totally different characters but he still does a lot of moving and physical humor.His dramatic movies are great. If you don't like em thats too bad.And Robert DeNiro is a good actor but not great.
