I was there in Paris on the 25th, two hours of sheer perfection. Tom Waits is a brilliant performer, but the Scarlett Johansson covers are greatly composed too. Am not so enthousiastic about her voice though, she could have used it better than she did.

You should of heard this in Atlanta July 5 2008. Makes this version seem amateur. I was there, kids. Tom Waits is god. Look for the link @ NPR.

Hmm, Tom Waits' voice is tormented, sounds rotten and old. That's what makes it so beautiful, it's emotion stripped down to its core. Excellent!

I keep watching this song and i don't get bored. It's so beautiful that there are no words to comment this one. And other singles too. I will keep rating this video 5 stars whenever i can , because it is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard !

Tom is not evryones. I love most of his work, rain dogs, swordfishthrombone and mule variations. He*s also a great actor and can be seen in alot og movies.If he was this garbage that some folks say he was, he would*nt been adored across the world.Like Scarletts version to.Greetings from iceland

im only 16. and i will defend Tom to the death too :] i get so angry when people say he sounds stupid or some garbage like that. they just dont get it.. i'd pick Waits over any and i mean ANYthing else. my favorite album(cd) would prob be mule variations... but then again. i love every single Tom Waits song.. so.everything he does.i love.
