THE PLIGHT OF THE BURMESE PEOPLE
As if the Burmese people hadn't enough to contend with by being brutally ruled by a Junta of military criminals, they now have to contend with one of the worst natural disasters ever to occur in the region. With a bit of luck this will spell the end of the general's rule as it appears that they don't have the resources to deal with the disaster. Hopefully, the world's aid agencies will get in there as quickly as possibe and do what they can to alleviate the suffering on the ground.

Pictures are a thousand words! I arrived in Burma on 3rd April to evacuate my lovely wife Ei Ei before the election on 10th May, expecting there to be violence then. But little did we expect to be caught amidst this disaster. We were able to evacuate on 7th May to Bangkok were we are staying until her visa is approved to come back to the USA with me. Let us all pray for the death of the military dictator than shwe so that the survivors will get the help they so desperately need. Carl & Ei Ei Fischer

The music is so appropriate. My heart goes out to these people. The Burmese government is unfeeling and has even confiscated Unicef and other aid destined to the cyclone area--that is a crying shame.
