Irish women are still fighting to break down barriers. My female cousin trained to be a thoracic surgeon but her career was stalled by the high level of male chauvinism in Dublin's medical fraternity. She moved to England where she was (eventually) given the opportunity to prove herself. Englands gain is Irelands loss. Don't let anyone ever tell you, you can't do what you know you can do. Great advice. So too is beware of taxi drivers with a price on their heads. They're always in a hurry.
