EZ Stain was invented in 1989 by a master mold and pattern maker that developed the stain for antiquing his custom statuary. Just this year EZ Stain has been made available to purchase for the general public. EZ Stain is a superior quality water-based, environmentally friendly product that has been developed for almost 20 years. It is capable of staining in an array of colors (stock or custom), any porous non-sealed surface including concrete, wood, or stucco. Surfaces treated with an application of EZ Stain change their appearances dramatically. EZ Stain adds value, and can be applied by DYI (do it yourself) or your contractor. EZ Stain may be applied by brush, roller,or sprayer . It can be even dipped, sponged, and poured. EZ Stain will cover 300 Sq. feet per gallon on an average depending on the surface and technique used. Thanks, I'll try that. I couldn't find anything useful on their website regarding application. Your YouTube gave me more information than I found in several hours of searching the web.

I have never worked with there stains. I would give them a call or email and see what they would suggest in the methods to use to acheive the look you are looking for from their products if possable.

I am using Quikrete Semi-Transparent Concrete Stain. My base coat is shale gray and I want to have a light "sponge-wash" of Arizonia Clay and Ash Gray with a Gunpowder "grout" line. I plan to paint a grout line until I have the time to score it. My patio is two different concrete pours etween 16 & 20 years old. The Shale gray is doing a decent job of matching the two concretes. It's the accent/contrast colors that are going to give the results I want. Any advice is appriciated.

All depends on what stain you are using. Are you using ours or another water-based stain?

I have started staining my patio. I want to give the illusion of the tile in my kitchen. I have a Base Coat of light gray. I want to do a "wash" with bits of dark gray and brown. This is the first time that I have seen the concrete sprayed with water before applying the stain. I wonder if this step will help me get the effect I am trying to achieve?
