Why hasn't any one ever told me about the bothy band? I can't believe it!! I am supposed to be doing house work but can't pull myself away from the screen.

I am so amazed to find these videos from a time I thought was completely gone and forgotten. The Bothy Band were only together for a short while, but they made a powerful impression at the time. I saw them play at a converted church or whatever, near Trinity College.

Not difficult at all. Thats why its still such a standout piece 30 years later.Dozy plonker

Sure, at their level nothing is difficult. But for me, as being a starting musician, it is, and I'm sure a lot of people agree with me.

I'm not sure it's that difficult at their level. The tunes are all jigs (6/8) and it's just a moderate increase from Old Hag into the 2nd tune, done by Kevin Burke the fiddler alone, and from 2 to 3 little or no increase. This is the same arrangement as on their "Old Hag You Have Killed Me" album. |
