It was stated on imdb that Don Knotts may ahve been scared to death by Abe Vigoda (they did an ep of Fantasy Island together). Mash actor McLean Stevenson (it also says at imdb) was scared of fellow actor Conrad Bain (Bain, who like Vigoda, was also on Dark Shadows the vampiresoap).
