Bruce Springsteen wrote the song "Tougher Than the Rest". It was written for his 1987 cd Tunnel of love and then appeared again on his Chimes of Freedom 1988 cd. So he wrote it 8 years before Chris Ledoux even sang it. Later in his career Chris Ledux reworked other songs including this song in 1995. So no Bruce Springsteen did not steel this song he always gives credit where credit is due and here it was not due.
