I think the angel has to do with a lot of it, in the video at least.That one angel connects all of those events, with each one being kind of depressing for the most part (joan of arc, conquistadors, donner party)I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with faith, and what people do to follow their own. Their 'phantom limb' so to speak
