By the way, I highly respect some republicans; the smart ones. Christopher Hitchens, William Buckley, Some of the Einsenhowers, Colin Powell, Condi Rice to name a few. By the way, beamship, your facts are a bit skewed. It was in fact Democrat-based legislation that caused our financial crisis. Take for example legislation pushed by Barney Frank which forced corporations to give loans to those who could not afford them, which produced a sub-prime lending crisis, ultimately leading to the situation we're in today. Politicians like Ron Paul who predicted the crisis years in advance were powerless to stop it.

This must be the conservative-republican asshole page. Thanks for ruining our economy and getting us in to the quagmire of the IRAQ WAR FOR OIL, whilst alternative and zero-point energy devices and systems, and plug-in electric cars were not promoted. When Obama's Alternative Energy initiatives are implemented, and green jobs, demand for oil will go even lower than the $1.65 a gallon for gas it is now. Our economy is based on CHEAP energy. When energy is no longer cheap...

If you ar in Iraq- you are cannon-fodder. You are in a war that was an invasion, undeclared, and unjust, based on a false-pretense of WMDs. The real terrorists are in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. 4000 of our countrymen died needlessly in Iraq. Call it POPULATION CONTROL, which is what all wars really are: a culling of the species. Our greatest problem is overpopulation, and we go to war to ameliorate it. McCain admitted during campaign real reason for Iraq war is to secure OIL.
