galician is technically a romance language- galicia may have been a Celtic place but its language is more related to Portuguese

Irish sounds like Hebrew here somehow.I'm not sure which one exactly but Irish, Gaelic or Celtic... one of those has close to 1000 words same or similar as in Serbo-Croatian.

Is it just me or is Jonathan Ross the most offensive creature ever created?

I think you meant "póg mo thoin" which means "kiss my ass".Some kids in my school have been exempted from learning Irish, their excuses are usually feeble. I am proud to be irish and i think i would be neglecting my cultural heritage if i did not speak my native tongue as my ancestors did before me. Is brea liom ghaelige, cheapaím gur teanga álainn, cheolfar í. (I love Irish, i think it's a lovely, musical language.) Labhraíonn mé ghaelige an t-am ar fad!(I speak irish all the time!)

but it is compulsory.every1 has to learn the language throughout primary and secondary school in ireland.the only people who have the choice not to learn it are those who were born outside ireland
