And I'm not "glorifying" Seaworld, just saying that they have tried to teach us. Even in these little shows they tell you tidbits about the animals. This show was made to make people more aware. I saw it first hand, not just on this video. The video showed only the most interesting parts not the whole show where they talked to the audience about the animals. It was beautiful, and touching in my eyes, not cruel.

If I get proof of they mistreating their animals then maybe I'll understand your point of view, but I haven't. I just found the show enchanting rather than cruel. The animals and people seemed to understand one another which is a beautiful thing. The whales wouldn't listen to the trainers if they were being cruel, they'd attack them. They're captive but not stupid. And dolphins are naturally friendly, they seem to love attention.

I have school too so I understand you needing to focus on other things, I just wanna make it clear to all of you that say you love these animals and still gorify Sea World and enjoy watching people surf on orcas and ride on their noses and degrade them, that what you are supporting is as sickening as going to a circus and watching bears ride motorcycles and tigers jump through flaming hoops because you "love bears and tigers"

All i can say is knowledge is power, and I certainly have learned more from the seaworld parks. But since this is not a debate and we don't have concrete evidence to support our ideas lets agree that whales are indeed great creatures and we admire them and forget about agruing. The person who posted this must be getting sick of our nonsense. And I can't be battle with you everyday now, school has started and papers need to be turned in. So thank you for your engaging debate

In addition to that, the parks that breed and enslave dolphins and orcas are doing so not to replenish those missing in the wild, they are doing so to continue their selfish money-making business. Because after all, according to them, and you, those bred in captivity cannot live in the wild. So how is their water circus helping wild dolphins or orcas?
KVedd (September 4, 2008 at 10:01 pm)
These parks have only decreased the populations of orcas and dolphins by catching them, even those caught in the past still affect the populations in the wild. They exist in the wild in pods, when captures occured, not only those captured were missing but those that died during the capture. Those pods have since struggled to recover. Orcas overall are not near extinction, but the pods individually suffered.

They're all dangerous don't get me wrong this is not news for me. And yes I do know that there have been attacks on trainers. But without knowledge of this we won't be living with ANY creatures on this planet let alone whales, the planet is dying slowly and they just wanted to but a little wisdom in to our heads so that maybe when I have kids there will be killer whales existing in our oceans.I know for a fact whale populations are diminishing due to food sources being over fished they need help
KVedd (September 4, 2008 at 2:25 am)
They have several who were wild caught-- Corky, Tillikum, Katina, Kasatka and Ulises. I also have news for you... All of them are dangerous, this is a wild animal capable of killing a blue whale and a great white shark. You wouldn't catch me swimming with them, they have been known to injure and kill their trainers, even those bred in captivity
BruisesAndContusions (September 4, 2008 at 1:49 am)
They have a whole program for rehabilitating Manatees (not a cetacean i know) but they do rehabilitate animals such as Sea lions and oil spill victims I just know they participate in programs like WWF and such (i'm not sure exactly which) and animals born in captivity simply cannot be released simple fact, they don't pull from the ocean wild whales because they're dangerous just ones bought from other zoos or wild life parks.
KVedd (September 3, 2008 at 3:13 am)
Well, I still would like to know of cases where Sea World was involved in or responsible for rehabilitating any animals. They have been known to want no part in taking in any cetacean whom was injured and therefore could not be exploited for profit. They are only interested in candidates who will be good slaves for their water circus. But I apologize for misunderstanding your comment.
