I wish that someone would make a video like this for all the barracks at valley forge military academy in wayne, PA...I can empathize with these soldiers...

This is completely true. While I was in AIT at Ft. Huachuca, AZ, we lived in barracks that were immaculate compared to these, and the Air Force personnel DID INDEED receive hazard-pay for sub-standard living conditions.

I'm shocked and disgusted by this. My long-time friend SPC Shultz just came home from almost a year in Iraq... and guess where he's living? Yup, you don't even have to guess, do you? Isn't this what we pay taxes for, folks?! Even when I was in the service, I NEVER lived like this.

While I appreciate your comments- the fact is the Army is saying these old barracks will not be replaced until 2011. That means men have to live in crap barracks for several more years

The Savannah District of the Corps of Engineers is proud of the new barracks we have built, and we can't wait for the Soldiers to move into them.Jennifer SmallUS Army Corps of EngineersSavannah District

The Corps of Engineers is in the midst of a 10-year Barracks Replacement Project at Fort Bragg. We are almost finished with the facility that will replace said barracks, at the end of 2008. It is important to us that our Soldiers live in adequate housing whenever possible.

Sir, you should come a few towns over and see how the Marine corps lives. We could use the publicity you created. The living conditions around Camp Lejeune are bad enough that you wouldnt want to stay long enough to take those pictures. not only does our mold have MORE mold growing on it than those barracks, the water pipes that leak drip through the roof and then you have the mold and water falling. Those conditions arent good, no they arent even acceptable, but i challenge you to try ours

I will guarantee that you have not been there for long, and you have not lived in these shitty baracks. Lets see if you feel the same 4 years from now after two more depoloyments. I think your outlook will changeEd Frawley |
