like many others, i try to donate to a couple of charities each year, since you asked...it's just funny how easy it is for a celebrity to go on camera, cry a little on behalf of poor people to get people to donate, and walk away looking like a hero when it took almost no effort on their part...

I cant stand when people make comments like yours. So she should donate every penny she has? She is doing something, what have you done to help? ... besides posting a negative comment on you tube. Maybe she inspired someone to do something small, or maybe she inspired a thousand people to do a thousand small things. And im sure it was a constant struggle to become famous, but now still has the humility and compassion to try to help people.. I dont see too many other musicians doing the same

"A person, esp. an orator or political leader, who gains power and popularity by arousing the emotions, passions, and prejudices of the people" - a demagogue... or a musician with a conscience.She got off her ass and did something to improve the quality of life of people, with little negative impact (if any). Love her music, bbut it seems somehow demagogic. Problems of poverty do not desapear with money only, and most probably it really is not a question of money. But, yes, I love her music and her personnality.
