it was a typo i meant to put F#maj but along the process of doing so i thought they should know what a F# is so i did a quick back space and i guess i missed the mthus making me sound like a fool Ebm is the Relative of F#m lmaowowand a 3 part voicing is florid counterpoint lol cheers and thanks for pointing that out,some one could of actually thought that was correct

Jesus, Phrygian12; don't question someone else's knowledge of theory when you know absolutely nothing yourself. The relative major of F# minor is A major. The relative minor of F# major would be D# minor, enharmonic to Eb minor. However, you can't use them interchangeably. Eb minor has nothing to do with either F# minor or A major.

you can play stuff by ear by just knowing the guitar, you dont necessarily need to know all the scales and chords names to learn songs but it does help in the long run and you have a valid point

right because reading tabs has everything to do with knowing scales and modes. i cant possibly learn how to play an a minor harmonic or play in mixolydian if i read tabs ohhh fuckin no. god forbid someone spends 12 years learning how to play the guitar and doesn't learn how to read a dot on a fucking line. do me a favor, find a tall building and jump off you ignorant fucking prick.

Yeah... I don't see the learning process as contributing to one's being a decrepit pile of shit. Personally, I see tabs as a way to learn the song so you can go back, with that gained knowledge, to figure out what goes into creating it. One who has no understanding of the scales or chords used isn't going to be able to transcribe it all by ear unless he or she has previous knowledge to work with.
