It's not just dublin, you can hear this all over NI too... By the way: deadly, brutal, sick, explosive, skin tearing AND LOTS MORE, all mean Great or awesome or Brilliant among people who are metalheads/ Heavy/death metal people! LOL

I don't know what Americans you have been talking to, or where you visited but, most of us aren't that daft to not know what gawk, knackered, brutal,bloody and quite a few other words/phrases mean. Honestly, we use a lot of those terms ourselves. You need to converse with some educated Americans. LOL There were a couple I didn't know before though.
