erfans22- Try this: after your shave rinse your face well with hot water. Then soak a cotton pad (not a cotton ball) with witch hazel and *gently* wipe your face and neck. Then give it a quick rinse with cool water.

I've never had any sort of bumps, zits, acne, scars, or any spot on my face for that matter. But I get these bumps within 24 hours of the shave. It's itchy and I end up touching them make it worse and spread. I don't use a shave brush and I am in need of a good after shave. I just bought a Proraso pre-shave creme, applied it last night and it felt GREAT!! It made me want to shave so badly heh, but I still have a bump on my face. Any advice/tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ImmortalDragon000- If you use a cartridge razor go out and get some disposable single-blade razors (BIC Sensitive or equivalent). Lots of hot water, a good lather, and use the single blade to reduce the beard (one or two passes with the grain). Then relather and use your cartridge razor.

Do you have any advice for those of us who wait too long between shaves? I sometimes fall into the trap of shaving just once a week and my facial hair gets pretty long and its already relatively thick. Thanks!P.S. Love your videos, I was actually excited to shave for the first time that I can remember.

slapstickity76- If you didn't prepare the face properly and used shave foam out of a can I would agree with you. But using proper prep and traditional lathing techniques this is quite possible to do for most people.

I like your vids, bro, but I have to say...shaving in this many directions is an almost guaranteed way to severely ingrow the majority of the follicles on the face.

Just did my first true wetshave with a Van Der Hagen Boar Brush and Van Der Hagen Soap.Feels amazing. It's the first time in nearly five years that I've not had to worry about breaking out in bumps or having to worry about the irritated skin.Thank you very much for the effort you put into creating these videos! |
