you're totally right, but there are still good artist who make music with their heart and soul! These days, there are passionated artist too, believe me!but you're right about the commercial part! :Dbtw. Janis Joplin rules !!!

This just goes to show how music has changed over the years. The generation that enjoyed Janis Joplin can't get into the music these days cause they are used to music having soul and feeling and the singers performing like the music was a part of them. These days, the music is mostly just to entertain and showing off body parts in videos to coerce the consumer into buying the cds. I agree with debgirl.

You are absolutely right. Nowadays, Most women in music have to sell sex appeal to keep their jobs. Unlike technology and knowledge, music has fallen ill to prosper.

This woman had straight up soul! She had the feeling inside of her heart! I was a kid when she passed away, but I remember her like yesterday. I loved her voice so very much. The singers of today, do not compare to Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle, Stevie Nicks, Cass Elliot, or ArethaFranklin or Tina Turner.
