If atheists derive their ethical behavior from human rights legislation (which, i'm sorry to say, you are very wrong about), then I find that appalling. To merely go along with something because of what's legal or illegal, an then claim that your concerns are "intense" is contradictory, but I would not expect you to make sense. As for how "balanced" you are, your vehement attack on views held dear by others, with no provocation, would lead me to disregard your opinion on anything "civil"

Youd do well for yourself to step outside of your little box and do some thinking of your own. Use your OWN mind. Wonder whats out there, and where it all came from, and why.I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

Eric Claptons "version" is the orginal. So why not say the orginal is better

Unfortunately you are looking at the wrong religions. We dont know what Jesus looked like. Also easter is not a Christian holiday. The Christian holiday that happens on that day is Resurection Sunday, the day that Christ rose from the dead.

I am an anti-theist not because of quotes but because I did research in to the beginnings of religion. Most religions have a common root which they stem from, Sun Worship. Thats why Jesus has a halo in most paintings to instil that idea in people. That is also why Easter is at the time of the year it is, The Spring equinox and Xmas is 3 days after the Winter Solstice. What I say to Christians is to research or ask their pastor why the Easter bunny and hiding eggs is in their Easter tradition.

Many non-theists have an intense concern for civil rights. Their rules of ethical behavior are generally derived more from human rights legislation than from the Bible. They tend to hold liberal views concerning current controversial religious topics: access to abortion, equal treatment for gays and lesbians, physician assisted suicide, etc. Meaning we're the most well balanced social group from which to make an independent assessment of the facts. I'm sorry to say you're very wrong about god.

Clapton wrote this song to deal with the loss of his son. Yes he sings it from his heart! The chant is beautiful but why would Monks who have devoted their life to christ be saying I don't belong in heaven........

So do you belong to a third class- overzealous atheists without intelligence? It seems so. As to your cute steeple-lightning rod quip. . . who gives a sh*t what you "say"? Well... I SAY that someone who actively seeks out religious videos to try to validate his existence by insulting religions is an asshole, and an idiot to boot. That's what I SAY.

Well im sorry but thats a complete load of shit!! I like Eric Claptons version better because when he sings it he sings it from his heart, plus it actually means something to him whereas these blokes are just doin a crap cover version!!! |
