Lance Pharmstrong has asthma(cough:)
mustardjunkie (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
UNLESS PHARMSTRONG's 60 minute power is 40 watts more than his 1 minute power,I HIGHLY DOUBT he did "Le Tour" without: -Blood refills( along with EPO microdose before bed)-Corticoids(which he tested positive for)-Asthma inhaler( which he has Use exemption for, he he he:)-Actovegin Cow Blood( which he admitted to using on Dec 1, 2000 on his website.)O2 transports (not banned)PCF'sAnd your own blood is not a banned substance.Yes lance you never lied. HEhehehehe:)

Pharmstrong's VO2 max power output was recorded by Coyle(who tested him); listed it as 460 watts.

You are misusing this data in your meaningless calculations. There are many other factors that can influence FTP. Things like pedalling efficiency, musculoskeletal structures.I don't believe his V02 max power output was 460 watts. I saw a guy being tested who put out close to that with a VO2 max of 68.FTP depends on your LTVO2. Robert de Castella, an Australian marathon runner had an LTVO2 of 90%. This isn't that exceptional, and given LA's phenomenal lactate usage he would surely be higher.

29% higher than 83.7ml/kg=107.9 ml/kg VO2 max.Now, doesnt that seem a slight bit improbable without(Cough, assistance).

VO2 max is the ceiling for Funtional Threshold Power. (max 60 minute sustained wattage)Pharmstrong's VO2 max power output is listed as 460 watts. (Coyle)Pharmstrong's FTP is listed as 83% of his VO2 max. (Coyle)That is: 381 watts FTP/During "Le Tour de France":Pharmstrong's FTP(60 minute sustained power output) has been reported at 495 watts. If his FTP was 83% of his VO2 max, his VO2 max was 596 watts which is: 29% higher than tested.

You can't predict what a riders FTP will be based only on their VO2. VO2 isn't even the most important factor in performance in endurance events. Your comments are a bunch of BS

Can you please post a link as to your sources for Greg LeMond's FTP? I would be interested to see that. Also, EPO actually hit the Tour in 1988, before LeMond won in 1989 and 1990. LeMond won the Tour in two years where EPO was freely available and untested for.And bullshit LeMond was stronger in 91'. Greg LeMond seems to place blame all over the place whenever he loses. Blames drugs, blames teammates, blames all kind of things.

dude get over it lance won fair n square stop being jeaouls over an americans success he won get over it

I Need to put it out there that O'Grady tested a 91,that was jacked for sure. No cyclist has tested above 92.Some Nordic Skier tested a 96 using his whole body. The very fact that he won Paris-Roubaix solo at the end of a 6hr effort shows an extremely high FTP power, but he is a heavier man than Pharmstrong and it is FTP/kilo that wins Grand Tours. Lance has a higher(jacked) VO2 max than O'Grady(jacked). Lance's FTP percentage of Vo2 max is larger because thats been his focus. |
